Nyi Ageng Serang born with the original name Raden Ajeng (RA) Kustiyah Wulaningsih Endhi Retno. She is a daughter of Prince Natapraja, ruler of the Serang, a remote area in Mataram kingdom in Central Java.

Prince Sultan Natapraja are warlords who bergeral lane I Panembahan Serang. RA Kustiyah since childhood had come with his father to fight against the Dutch.
After his father died because of illness. RA Kustiyah replaced the father in the lord sebagai Serang and finally he was called Nyi Ageng Serang.
